Queenstown town centre is just a few minutes away by water taxi. Queenstown Golf Course and some of the best walking and cycling tracks are close at hand.
Shimmerlake faces northwards to the Frankton arm of Lake Wakatipu. It gets all day sun. This is a big factor for winter stays. For example if some in your group choose to remain in the house rather than go skiing they will enjoy a fabulous view and sun. Most locations closer to the CBD are in shade for much of the day and can be very cold.
