Architectural Masterpiece

The house is an architectural masterpiece and an amazing view out Lake Wakatipu. All photos are accurate and the place is extremely clean.

There are also many thoughtful little inclusions that went unmentioned, for example, we found the umbrellas and shopping bags extremely handy, and the hose outside of the garage prophetic as we needed it to remove the snow accumulated on our cars.

I also want to emphasise how well built the house is, which meant that it stayed warm even during a blizzard.

Lastly, if you are a nerd, you would appreciate the effort David spent to spec up the AV systems (yes, plural) in the house. AirPlay was available and we were playing our own tunes and videos inside the house with our phone with zero setup.

The only downside is I reckon the price will go up for us next time when we visit again given how good the place is.

Simply Paradise

My family and I simply loved this property and its the best we have stayed at so far. The house was just incredibly designed, with a style we really enjoyed. Views to die for! There's a lot of tech for very savvy TV, music and lighting.

Loved that there was lots of room in the lounge and dining. The bedrooms were super comfortable and we all slept so well.

We spent 5 nights here and would easily come again the next time we are in Queenstown. Totally worth the money spent. I also thought the location was not an issue and was very quick to get to Queenstown city when we needed to.

Communication with the owner and agent was seamless and easy.

High End Luxury

W O W!! Davids house is next level! High end luxury in every way! Bedding, appliances, furniture even the glassware was beautiful!!! I have NOTHING to critisise! The views are to die for! The quiet, picturesque location is enviable. An easy drive to shopping, a childrens park minutes walk away. Water taxi to Queenstown close by. The Remarkables ski field less than 1 hour. We wished we had longer to stay and are already praying that we can return. Thankyou David for helping to make holidays for people memorable & thankyou to Courtney who was only a txt message away if needed.

Shimmerlake is a beautiful and spacious property which was perfect for our stay as it suited all the ages of our guests. Extremely clean and well appointed it was more like a prestige hotel. The view from the wrap around balcony was stunning at any hour of the day.

Extremely Well Equipped

Magnificent house with incredible view and surroundings. Extremely well equipped. We even found a sewing kit to fix my suit jacket button before my sisters wedding on the Thursday.

Concierge Was Super Friendly

David's Airbnb was perfect in every way! staying there for our wedding was amazing for us and our family. the house is close to the water taxi and walks, easy to access Queenstown without driving. the house has incredible views! and is equipped with everything you could need. Courtney the concierge was super friendly and made sure we were all settled and was only a text message away if we needed anything. thank you so much again, we loved everything!

So Much Space

What a wonderful place to stay. Everything about David's home was perfect. Clean, spacious, beautiful fixtures and fittings, lovely furniture, sensational views. So much space for 10 friends to enjoy together in every comfort. I would highly recommend David's home.

Attention To Detail

We loved our stay at Shimmerlake! It was the perfect option for two families with enough space for everyone. There wasn't anything we felt was lacking at the house and it met every need. The amazing view and attention to detail in the house design made it a very enjoyable stay.
